Description

Evergreen tree that grows naturally in the south-west of Western Australia. It is renowned for its weeping habit, forming up to a 9m foliage dome.
A great shade tree or street tree and a great tree for children to climb because of its low branches.

Small white flowers appear in late spring along the pendulous branches, similar to the tea-tree flowers, to which this tree is related.

Crushing its long, green leaves between your fingers releases a pleasant aroma of eucalyptus.

Growing

As an Australian native, it will grow in a wide range of soils, but prefers full sun to establish itself correctly.

The tree can be can be tip pruned throughout the year to encourage bushier growth and it will also respond to pruning after flowering if required.

Propagation is by seed or cuttings, but you will only get the true cultivar by cuttings.
This is an almost pest-free tree, sometimes you may find scale insects attack it.

Agonis is tough and versatile and thus suited to a wide range of climates except mountain climates. It also grows well by the sea.
