Description

West Australian coastal shrub or small tree (2-3 m) with needle-like leaves 2cm long. The waxy flowers vary from greenish-white through pink to red and are produced from August to November and are useful for interior decoration and flower arrangements.

Several variations are grown.

Growing

Needs full or half sun and thrives in light, well-drained sandy soils. A sheltered position is preferable, as this plant has brittle roots that are broken easily in excessively windy positions.
Grow from seed or cuttings.
Water moderately.
Prune after flowering to maintain a compact shape.
Temperate or warm climate.
