Description

Flowering Season: Spring, Early Summer
Height: 6m

Native to the high-rainfall cool mountainous regions of New Zealand, Cordyline indivisa grows to 6 m (20 ft) in the wild. Strong arching leaves are produced on a single trunk. The clumps of heavily ribbed, bluish green leaves are up to 1.8 m (6 ft) long and 12 cm (5 in) wide.

The small creamy-white flowers, massed on panicles 1m (3 ft) long, appear in spring or early summer.

Fruit: Bluish purple berries.

Growing

It requires a cool, moist climate and does well in coastal fog belts.

Light shade is best for young plants.
