Description
There are more than 250 species of Grevillea, most of them
are found in south-western Western Australia. Species and hybrids
bear spider-like flowers. They come in a variety of colours,
from gold through orange, red, crimson, even mauve. Most Grevilleas
flower in winter or spring, but some rarely stop blooming at
all. Grevilleas are rich in nectar and thus will attract honey-eating
birds to your garden.
Species range from mat-like ground covers and shrubs to tall
trees - such as the Silky Oak (Grevillea robusta) which
has a mature height of 15-25 m - but most varieties that are
available in nurseries are shrubs of 1 - 2 meters.

Growing
Grevilleas need a sunny position and well drained soils.
They resent root disturbance.
Grevilleas need pruning and should, in fact, be pruned every
year for best results. Doing so will also prolong their life.
Be careful with fertilising, however, too much will cause
the plant to die young!
Drought resistant.
