Description

There are more than 100 species of deciduous or evergreen shrubs with a wide variety of flower and foliage types.

Grows to about 2.5 m in height with a spread of 1-3 m.

Grown for their fragrant, hydrangea-like flowers and attractive berries.

Growing

Very hardy plant that does best in fertile soil in an open sunny position. It does, however, grow quite happily in semi-shade as well!

Propagate from seed or from cuttings. For the evergreen types strike in summer and autumn and for the deciduous types strike in winter.

Prune after flowering (all types)

Most climates except tropics.
